BrowserAbout.com is a diagnostic utility. It does not require an account. This page explains what the site can see and what is stored when you create a shareable report.

What the live scan reads

On the homepage, detection runs in your browser. Typical signals include browser and OS clues, JavaScript availability, cookie behavior, screen and window sizes, locale and network hints, media and API presence, and add-on related probes. The page also receives limited server-visible request metadata used for the report (for example accepted languages and whether the connection is HTTPS).

What is stored when you share

When you create a shareable link, BrowserAbout.com saves a JSON snapshot of the diagnostic payload in a local SQLite database. That record may also include the HTTP user-agent string from the request and a one-way hash of the connecting IP address (not the raw IP). Reports are identified by long random IDs in the URL path /r/….

Who can open a shared report

Shared report URLs are unguessable in practice, but anyone who has the link can open the snapshot. Do not post share links in public forums if you are concerned about exposing environment details. There is no login wall on report pages.

Indexing and retention

Shared report pages are marked so search engines should not index them. Reports are stored for 90 days, then removed automatically. There is no public directory of reports. Creating share links is rate-limited per network to reduce abuse.
